La Pas / Slowing down is a project of Timișoara European Capital of Culture 2021, through which we propose a responsible model of consumption and food production. Our audience is a complex, trans-generational one, consisting of consumers, artisan producers and farmers, organizers of cultural events, restaurants and cafes interested in introducing local products in their offer.
Launched in 2018, the project will gradually develop in the coming years. So far, it includes: the development of a strategic analysis group (BREAD); the organization of a traditional recipe contest (Taste as heritage); the development of a database with small local producers in the region; the publication of a ”Handbook for promoting responsible consumption” and of a ”Guide for sustainable cultural events”; the launch of an educational program for responsible consumption and development, in collaboration with several schools; the preparation of the first edition of the La Pas Artisanal Gastronomy Festival and of the Sustainability conference – an indicator for measuring cultural-artistic events.
