A social design lab for urban agriculture in Amsterdam

Urbaniahoeve facilitates local participants to create foodscapes in the city by appropriating underused, under programmed and over-paved urban typologies.

The lab was established in 2010 by Debra Solomon, who works as an artist with the themes of food and eco systems in public space.

Their projects include the urban food forests Foodscape Schilderswijk (2010-2014), Foodscape Wildeman (2013), DemoTuinNoord (2011 – ongoing), and many other projects that are regularly cited in academic publications and architecture biennials.
